IMPROVED KEY GENERATION AND ENCRYPTION MECHANISMS

The increasing use of the Internet by the users in their daily routines highlights the great success of the Internet. The need for secure data transmission has become very essential. Attacks by hackers and viruses in the data stored and transmitted have been of great concern .This has led to the study of methods to protect data and resources from disclosure to guarantee the authenticity of data and messages and to protect systems from network based attacks. Cryptography is one of the mechanism to fight against these attacks. The main challenge faced in this the management of the keys, which involves generation, distribution, revocation, storage and verification of keys. In this context Identity Based Encryption is a solution to the key management problem of public key cryptosystems. Identity based encryption is the one in which the key is derived directly from certain aspects of the users identity for example an IP address belonging to a network host or an email address associated with the user.
