Implementation of lean construction techniques

Lean Construction is a construction management philosophy which evolved from lean manufacturing principles like Just in time, Total quality Management, Continuous Improvement etc. The essence of lean construction lies in efficiency of elimination of non-value adding activities i.e anything which is considered as waste. This book covers (1) Application of Last Planner System for Scheduling of Construction activities (2) Measuring the productivity of form work activity and found that poor management control, poor planning and absence of workers during festive seasons were the factors responsible for productivity being not upto the mark and finally (3) Time Value analysis for determining the optimum labour requirement for specific construction activity by finding the percentage of direct work, indirect work and supporting work.
