Homeopathic(Alfalfa) Supplementation on Growth Performance of Broiler

This book contains the research conducted to determine the feed consumption, body weight, weight gain, feed efficiency and economy in broiler chicken fed locally available low protein based diets supplemented with synthetic DL-methionine, L-lysine and also homeopathic medicine alfalfa. The locally available feed ingredients used were yellow maize, rice polish, soybean meal, bone meal, limestone, salt, minerals mixture and vitamins. Requirement, synthetic DL-methionine and L-lysine was used for supplementation of deficient amino acid. The research finding indicated that, positive growth response and better health status of chicks was observed from supplementation of homeopathic medicine alfalfa with low protein based diets. Also, it was concluded that, with supplementation of synthetic DL-methionine, lysine and alfalfa, the CP level of broiler chicks could be reduced up to 20 percent in starter and 18 percent in finisher diets without compromising feed intake, final live weight, weight gain, feed efficiency and IOFCC, provided that feed ingredients are locally based.
