Transition metals dichalcogenides (TMDCs) MX2 (M as transition metal and X as chalcogen element: O, S, Se and Te) are very wide group of materials with a large spectrum of physical properties that make them more attractive. TMDCs in quasi-2D layered structures are suitable for their applications as super lubricants, ultralow thermal conductivity devices and solar cell converters. In 2D structures, MX2 slabs are weakly bonded by Van der Waals forces. Because of this reason, exfoliation down to extremely thin flakes even to single layers is possible. Inside the layers, the bonds have strong covalent and ionic nature.
