GIS Based Performance Evaluation of Irrigation Scheme

In this book attempt was made to comprehensively approach Irrigation project to diagnostically analyze limitations and opportunities of introducing Irrigation Project in an area using GIS Software for feasibility study the Irrigation Scheme during planning and design. In so doing, Irrigable land that was/will be under irrigation was investigated and evaluated. Possible potential source of water was investigated and tested for dependability or consistency and existing irrigation practice was evaluated. In view of these, the optimum irrigation scheme was designed. It was found to enhance optimum return from the project in its turn and even encourage future development in the sector. And finally it was concluded that Engineers, planners, and policy makers should give due attention to follow strong logistic during Irrigation planning, design and operation.
