GEOENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT OF GROUNDWATER

Water is the vital and fundamental natural compound that is essentially required for the basic survival of life on Earth, as all scientists, management professionals, and administrators unanimously concur. In today's world, the process of transitions/transformations from one form to another is a continual phenomenon. The prevalence of such alterations has been found to be rapid in recent decades, with a significant impact on water quality/quantity.The main goal of the present research is to determine the extent of groundwater contamination and the effect of land use/land cover on the region¿s agronomical practices. In order to achieve the objective, Geochemical and Chemometric techniques are applied on the analytical data and the results from Remote sensing, Geographical Information system are advertently integrated to evaluate and characterize the water quality and agronomic practices of the region.
