Gender inequalities and academic achievement in computer science

Currently, societies continue to assume certain behaviors typical of a patriarchal culture, these in turn have been evidenced through power relations between men and women, such actions reflect gender inequities and inequalities. On the one hand, inequitable gender relations understood as a way of seeing men in a referential position, capable of governing, leading, exercising dominion and segregating women in all types of participation, as well as not accepting the opinions and decisions of the female gender. On the other hand, the academic performance seen from the subject of computer science shows that the knowledge, attitudes, qualities, capacities and skills have not been overcome in the learning process due to the existence of certain inequalities between men and women. The reflection of the results is given through the grades acquired during an academic training process.
