Fully Automatic Digital Rockwell Hardness Tester

Hardness is mainly an indicator of wear resistance and ductility of materials. The Rockwell Hardness Tester is a machine that tests the hardness of various materials like steel, cast iron, aluminium etc. In this book, we have presented a Fully Automatic Digital Rockwell Hardness Test machine for an existing semiautomatic hardness test. The current hardness testing machine requires the manual operation such as raising and lowering test platform, loading and unloading. This automation is done by using high torque stepper motors and load cell circuitry. The automated Rockwell hardness test machine is found to measure harness with an accuracy of 98.0% for HRC material and 98.8% for HRB material. Thus we authentically report that, our automation results match to the traditional results of hardness.
