Flowing with the Current

The text examines the current developments in the automobile industry brought about by the nascent sector of electric cars. It looks into a combination of factors that made the advent of electric cars possible now and focuses on the global struggle for natural resources. Also, uncertainties brough about by the electrification of motoring are addressed in relation to the world economy and politics. Part II presents reflections on the practice of doing a journalistic research. It addresses the constraints which an industry journalist faces in his/her work. Namely, such issues as the complexity of the industry and constraints of the media environment are examined. The discussion is put into a perspective of available academic research and a case for journalist¿s self-reflexivity is made.
