Fire Protection Systems in Commercial High-rise Buildings

Globally, fire protection has continued to gnaw the society in all spheres of life. Loss of lives, property, injury, ill-health and environmental degradation, albeit with profound impacts, has not received necessary attention in many developing countries, especially in Africa. This research if one of the few, if any, fairly comprehensive work done on our skyscrapers. As they continue to grow in number, commensurate efforts need to be put in place to control or prevent inherent fire hazard and risks that come along with them. It's upon the Government at the regional and national levels and other stakeholders to formulate requisite laws and policies that address fire menace in the whole spectrum of human occupation. This will be supportive of the tenets of our Constitution that provide for a safe and health environment under the Bill of Rights.
