It seeks to contribute to the existing knowledge about the Uruguayan agricultural sector. The main companies and the factors that influence their decision making. Within the agricultural production system and in the last decade, soybean became the main crop in terms of production and marketing. With its expansion, the existing chain model of the agricultural system became a network in which actors compete and interact with each other. A network dominated by "big business". The types of enterprises are distinguished according to two classifications. The first according to their location and function within the production network: producers, originators, stockpilers, exporters to the FAS or FOB and exporters to the final destination. And a second classification according to their scope and the market in which they operate: national and multinational companies. The type of company is the main factor affecting their decision making. With the factors identified in the work, a first hierarchy and qualification of the incidence that these factors have in the decision making of large companies is made, with the basis and opinions of highly qualified people.
