Energy, local development and territorial planning

The book shows a sustainable energy development option inspired by the paradigm of local development, where it is committed to achieve the use of indigenous resources, based on the preservation of natural resources and environmental respect. In five chapters, several alternatives aimed at empowering the territories and localities of their energy destination through the use of renewable energy sources are exposed. It starts from protecting the conceptual base related to sustainability; the territory of the province of Manabí and its energetic relations are characterized; the functionalities of geographic information systems are shown as an instrument for territorial planning; some alternatives associated with sustainable energy development are exposed from the local scheme; Some examples of energy management are shown in rural areas of Canton Chone and the parish of Colón, the latter belonging to the canton of Portoviejo; Some issues related to distributed generation, artificial intelligence and smart micro networks are addressed. The results are shown in maps and data tables.
