Emergence of the mobile internet

This work is the result of fieldwork conducted in the city of Dschang (West Cameroon) on the emergence of mobile Internet and the problem of the profitability of cybercafés. Based on a survey of randomly selected stakeholders, it was found that the emergence of mobile telephony with its multiple new functions and the use of the Internet have strongly revolutionized the lives of consumers. This new technology of communication for personal and independent use has reduced the profitability of the activity of cybercafés, which remains only a favorable place to help with photocopying at a lower cost (15 to 25 FCFA/copy). It should be noted that with the success of cell phones in Cameroon where there are about 20 million active phones for a population of 25 million inhabitants, now it is the mobile internet that is booming with an emergence of 80,000 possessions in the student city of Dschang.
