Efficacy of Eco-clubs in Secondary Schools of Visakhapatnam City

The present study reveals the opinions of the students studying in the secondary schools towards efficacy of Eco-clubs. In the present study the demographical variables the sex, caste, religion have no impact on the shaping of opinions of the students. However, when the intra-caste sections are studied, it is interesting to note that there is difference ofopinions between OC and SC caste, BC and SC caste, BC and ST castes.The management of school also does not have any influence. It is clearfrom the study, by and large, the students have positive opinion over theefficacy of the Eco-clubs in the schools. It is also known from the study,that the effective functioning of the Eco-clubs depends upon the student¿s participation. Thanks to the NGC, which play an important role in establishing eco-clubs in the secondary schools. It is the considered 86 opinion of the researcher, being teacher educator herself the Eco-clubs are formed and made to function well with the cooperation and guidance of the teacher trainees of particular B.Ed., colleges in the area.
