Effects of Copyright on Access and Use of Information

This study sought to investigate effects of copyright on access and use of information in university libraries in Kenya. The research provides an avenue for creation of an acceptable copyright balance between owners and users. The findings are anchored on the increasing demands by consumers of copyrighted products for free access to information and owners advocacy for stiff and stringent copyright protection and implementation. The study has generated new knowledge that is essential for copyright law improvement, copyright awareness, formulation of copyright structures and provides solutions to the consistent conflict between copyright owners and users. The study further recommends an urgent review of the Kenya Copyright Act.
