Controlled Source Electromagnetic (CSEM) technology is fast gaining popularity in the petroleum industry due to its complementary role to seismic. Additionally, CSEM is a powerful geophysical method for defining effective parameters of a medium but with conditions to fulfil. The existence of effective parameters of a VTI layered medium has been investigated, using the diffusive CSEM method, under varying conditions of reflection and transmission interactions and anisotropy ratio.
