Does private equity create value?

This work is aimed for investigating the value creation for a Private Equity funds investments and particularly in Africa. The Private Equity represents the activity of financial institutions or investment funds that invest in equity or equity investments in unlisted companies. By taking an equity stake in these companies their aim is to realize a profit in the medium term either by selling the company to an industrial or introducing traded. Sometimes private equity funds transfer their participation to another fund of the same type. In view of the upsurge of private equity in Africa we have decided to focus on this continent. This advancement of private equity in Africa is due to the business opportunities that have been increasingly created and investors have rushed to the continent recently.
