Digital Signal Processing of Aeromagnetic Data

The temperature history of a sedimentary Basin governs the maturation of kerogen into petroleum and the conversion of oil to natural gas, but where accurate temperature and heat-flow measurements are expensive and not available, the depth to the Curie temperature isotherm determination from potential field data is essential to estimate temperature gradient at depths. This book developed the Curie point isotherm depth,average sedimentary thickness,basement morphology maps of a study area through digital processing of aeromagnetic data. This was with a view to evaluating the heat flow regime and geothermal gradient and assessing the petroleum and geothermal resource potential.
