Developing Trends in the African Novel: A Focus on Contending Themes

In this work, Emmanuel shows how contemporary novels have deliberately targeted rewriting Africäs history through Literature and thus reconstruct the dark paintings of Africa that occurred during and after colonial era. Through the works of some leading African literary scholars, he makes sound analysis of these developing trends and puts into perspective a narrative of these historical literary trends in Africa, with special emphasis on the growth of the African novel amidst its challenges.
