DEVELOPING SOCIAL AND CIVIC SKILLS INKINDERGARTEN

I envisioned this book as an impulse for the development of innovative and effective activities that aim at the social and civic development for preschool children. Social development is a very important part of our children¿s lives and while they are of preschool age, this process takes place both at home and in kindergarten. I believe that most parents and educators want their children to enjoy a full life, which also implies the ability to participate authentically in the social life. Belonging to a community, being a good citizen, being with other people are behaviors that generate happiness and well-being.In the first part of the book you will find a number of theories and information about social and moral development, along some ways to carry out social development activities in kindergarten. In the second part of the book, I wanted to convince the readers that it is relatively easy to create and implement a system of social and civic education activities for preschoolers, a system that is also effective. In the last part, you will find the detailed presentation of the component activities of the social and civic skills development program.
