Beschreibung

Bachelor Thesis from the year 2021 in the subject Medicine - Other, grade: passed, , language: English, abstract: This study assessed the determinants of Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy among community health workers in Minglanilla, Cebu in the implementation of Covid-19 vaccine in the country.

A descriptive cross-sectional design was used in this study. The respondents were 187 community health workers. The main instrument used was an adopted modified survey questionnaire entitled ¿Determinants of Vaccine Hesitancy¿ from the World Health Organization. In order to ensure the validity and accuracy of the results, a simple percentage was used to determine the profile of the respondents; weighted mean and anova were used in order to assess the determinants of Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy among community health workers.

Majority of the respondents were in the age bracket of 42¿52 years old, mostly are females, married, majority are high school level and barangay health workers have the highest number in job categories and most of the respondents are in 5 years and above of service. The determinants of Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy among community health workers in terms of contextual influences, individual and group influences, and in vaccine and specific influences were interpreted as agree, which means an influential situation. Overall, the given situations were all determinants of vaccine hesitancy; and, the community health workers of Minglanilla were not hesitant to be immunized with Covid-19 vaccine.

Based on the findings, the researchers recommended an action plan that answers the statements with the lowest mean on the determinants of Covid-19 Vaccine Hesitancy such as Covid-19 vaccines should be compulsory to all health workers. It is preferable to acquire immunity against infectious diseases naturally (by having the disease) than by vaccination. By not taking the Covid-19 vaccine, a health worker might put an individual at risk. The action plan focuses on implementing additional awareness of Community Health Workers on Covid-19 Vaccines and thereby promotes vaccine safety and effectiveness to influence the public to increase their Covid-19 vaccine acceptability.
