Cruise tourism as an alternative tourist product

Cruise tourism in itself is a tourism destination; however upon docking or calling at Mombasa sea port it supplies the coastal circuit with tourists who explore various types of tourism activities and products within the short duration of visitation. This is attributed to the rich tourism products offered at the coastal circuit that can be experienced at short notice, and include well established hospitality facilities, advanced infrastructure for accessibility, historic sites, and wildlife in Amboseli and Tsavo East and West National Parks among other tourist products and attractions in both the North and South coast. Therefore cruise tourism as a tourist segment is a product that has a strong and viable opportunity to be exploited and will go along in benefiting the rich coastal tourism circuit and the country as a whole.
