Creation of the Para-Equestrian Sports Training Centre at Cieq-Belém

After starting the activities of the Pre-Sportive Program in 2004 at the Centro Interdisciplinar de Equoterapia (Cieq-Belém), the technical team has developed a vast experience in the work of Equine therapy applied to the areas of Education and Equitation, especially in the use of the horse as an instrument of social insertion and preparing athletes for the Para-Equestrian Sport Practice program. Learn how it was possible to develop a 14-week training Program for Equine Therapy students with activities based on Basic Equitation exercises. For this project, the Centro Interdisciplinar de Equoterapia (Cieq-Belém) counted on the involvement of its entire team of professionals in the areas of Health, Education and Equitation, developing a method based on the study of Basic Equitation Techniques, the sequence of the Phases of Therapeutic Progression, Equestrian Ethology, the concepts of Gentle Grooming and the use of Equotherapy as a pedagogical resource in the arena.
