Corporate Governance Practices

The book is entirely a brilliant and practical approach to the better understanding of corporate governance mechanisms. It is an attempt to explore the dimensions of corporate governance which are board size, board diligence, board independence, ownership concentration and directors remuneration. Profitability (measured by return on asset) of listed consumer goods firms in Nigeria also forms the dependent variable of this book. The essence of right governance at all levels is what investors are looking up to in today¿s business world. Thus, good corporate governance practices enable companies to respect the law, play by the rules guiding business management and maintain ethics and professionalism with the highest regard when dealing with corporate information, social responsibility and shareholders' fund. The study adopted an ex-post facto research design. Census sampling was used to select 20 listed consumer goods firms on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, for a time period of 2012 to 2020.
