Copyright protection for computer software - A critical analysis

History reveals that technological revolutions often have an impact on the economic, political and social spheres of a society. Computer and computer software technologies have equally caused remarkable transformation in industrial production, financial and commercial operations, government and other spheres of life. Copyrights are one of the most important IPRs. The globalization or universalization or internationalization of trade and economy, and the multilateral rules that most of us have accepted to be bound by require us adopt a post approach vis a vis IPR through to close interaction between government, industry and the creative/inventive segment of society. This book aims to present copyright protection for computer softwares, different types of softwares, object code and source code in detail and its protection in developed countries and in India. Online copyright infringements such as piracy and internet in global environment and also various agencies like BSA, NASSCOM to protect and curb the piracy in online software. Various remedies, national and international treaties protecting the copyrights on computer software are emphasized in this book.
