Copper chalcogenide based asymmetric solid state supercapacitors

The electrical energy generation from renewable energy is increasing worldwide. Therefore, storage and transportation of electrical energy become a crucial part of the development of society. For electrical energy storage batteries, capacitors and supercapacitors are used, In which supercapacitors have the ability to store charge rapidly and it has higher power density than batteries. Currently, supercapacitors are being used in several applications such as telecommunications, hybrid electric vehicles, power backup sources, flash cameras, etc. In hybrid electric vehicles, higher power during start is required. Therefore, the present book is embarked on the synthesis of copper chalcogenides and their composites with reduced graphene oxide with the intention to increase specific surface area and specific capacitance. Flexible asymmetric supercapacitors are fabricated using these electrode materials.
