Cooperative learning in technical English teaching

This book presents a methodological proposal based on the cooperative approach based on an investigation and analysis of the needs, deficiencies and preferences of the students in the teaching and learning process of Technical English. This methodological proposal will contribute to the dynamisation, qualification and effectiveness of the teaching and learning process of Technical English by introducing cooperative learning groups in which students work together to maximise their own learning and that of others by establishing a positive interdependence, i.e. a commitment to the success of others as well as their own. The methodology based on the cooperative approach will change the patterns of a traditional teaching methodology and counteract competitive and individualistic learning, as it proposes cooperation and teamwork as the basis of the English Language Teaching and Learning process. The reader will find in these pages the project profile, the frame of reference, the conceptual or theoretical framework and the elaboration of the proposal through the design of a global plan and a lesson plan of a thematic unit.
