Conventional Treatise of Vamana Karma

This book is an effort made to establish formal, discourses which are generally accepted principles, methods of Vamana Karma. It is one among purifactory procedure in Ayurveda & it is in practice since Vedic, Buddhist, Purana & Samhita periods. The process where toxins are engrossed from body tissues at gastric level, so by the act of vomiting they can be thrown out from body.Vamana karma, is the measure among Panchakarma, diseases originated due to vitiated kapha are eliminated from root by the procedure of Vamana. It is not merely a gastric lavage. Vamana is a type of medically induced inflammation. Every step of this Karma has its own importance. Ghee is considered as anti oxidant which loosens toxins at cellular level by Snehana. Acharya Charaka has mentioned that The drugs used in Vamana Karma get absorbed by their Virya and reach heart,where-from through the circulation and then via macro & micro channels, the Virya of the drug reaches at the site of the lesion which may be in the form of Dosha Sanghata then breaks it into smaller molecules which can flow through the minute channels of the body and reach to stomach, where-from they are expelled out of body by Vamana Karma.
