Community exchanges for French language teachers

Within the framework of the European Union, where multilingualism and multiculturalism are already a reality, the Council of Europe is carrying out work and projects that could promote intercomprehension and intercommunication between populations, their harmonious neighborhood and their cooperation in the educational and/or professional field. At the university level, community exchange programs, which also aim to promote intercultural competence, are gaining strong recognition among students. In the present study, which is part of the field of language sciences, we aim to measure whether the participation of EFL teachers in community exchange programs during or after their studies promotes the teaching and practice of intercultural competence in the EFL classroom. The study thus prompts us to reflect on the promotion of intercultural teaching, which in an ever-changing world seems to assume a very important role.
