Collaborative E-Learning in an ICT text based learning environments

Collaborative learning in an ICT text based synchronous and asynchronous e-learning environments differ and has brought various dimensions. Students have met wide challenges and reveal less satisfication to the learning needs and environment. The book analyses the two learning environments -the synchronous and asynchronous in an an ICT text based using a research group of post graduate students studying Business Information systems course. Several tools were used at the three phases of the research to determine the factors that affected student collaboration in the two environments. The results gathered from the stages were used to determine the impact ICT text based e-learning had on the learning outcomes. The results then concluded that asynchronous text based collaborative e-learning is best suited for Zimbabwean distance learning students compared to the synchronous.
