Characterization of Bio-physical Parameters in a Micro-watershed

ICRISAT has adopted one of the watershed covering nearly 5000 ha area for developing it as site of learning in Bhanur village, Medak district, Telangana state since 2014. Number of water harvesting structures and crop management interventions are being implemented for enhancing groundwater recharge and crop productivity enhancement. In this context, it is important to understand various water balance components which describes green (soil moisture) and blue water (runoff and groundwater) availability in the targeted landscape.The soil physical properties such as soil texture (sand, silt and clay), bulk density and water retention properties (Field capacity and wilting point) along with topography survey of the selected micro-watershed.This book will be helpful for the farmers and give them a brief idea about the bio-physical characteristics of the micro-watershed in the Medak district, Telangana.
