Challenges Older People Faces and Their Coping Mechanisims

Ageing is a universal phenomenon and expected natural process of the life cycle. As people enter old age, they begin to experience related changes and challenges in their life. The book presents the different challenges older people in Ethiopia are facing and their coping mechanisms during the pandemic of COVID-19. The book is based on the results of the study conducted in Addis Ababa using qualitative case study approach. The information included in the book are collected using interview and focus group discusisons from 22 older people and analysed using thematic analysis. The key findings of the study are presented and discussed including participants responses in line with reviewed literatures.The social, economic , psychological, health related challenges older people faces , impact of COVID -19, and older people coping mechanisms are widely discussed and presented in the book.
