Challenges in Autonomous Power System

The generation, transmission, distribution, and consumer subsystems are the components that make up an electric power system. Real-time monitoring and remote control of elements such as generators, substations, transmission lines, and other physical facilities become increasingly necessary as the consumption of electrical energy continues to rise. This is because the operation of power systems is becoming increasingly complex as the consumption of electrical energy continues to rise. This communication investigates new challenges in the automation of operational procedures, which have arisen as a direct result of the growing complexity of electric power systems. In particular, the use of synchrophasor measurements to opportunistically trigger automatic control actions under emergency conditions is briefly covered in this article.
