Carter's Creek Pike bisects the once sleepy village of Burwood located ten miles south of Franklin. Burwood and Beyond attempts to tell the history of the small village and its neighboring communities of Forest Hill, Sycamore, Sugar Ridge, and Evergreen. Once known for its rich agricultural products of corn, tobacco, hogs, horses, and cattle. Today, it is threatened by encroachment from Thompson Station and Spring Hill. This tome is illustrated with seven hundred and ninety-one-period photographs within four hundred pages. Great attention has been paid to the extinct schools, churches, country stores, historic homes, veterans of many wars, and notable citizens of the past.
