BREAST CANCER

Breast cancer (BC) is considered the most common oncological pathology in women worldwide. It is one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality from cancer worldwide, and has been identified as the most frequent type of cancer in most countries.Tumorectomy allows for the partial removal of breast tissue, reducing the psychological damage to the woman. It involves the removal of the tumor and part of the surrounding breast tissue. In mastectomy there is a total loss of breast tissue.Patients with CM who undergo tumorectomy have a more optimistic response compared to patients who undergo mastectomy. The woman who undergoes a tumorectomy subsequently maintains a more positive body image, since only part of the breast tissue is removed. Therefore, it is possible that the tumorectomy is associated with a higher quality of life (QoL) in the short, medium and long term in women with CM.In relation to interventions at the level of coping strategies, these are essential to allow for a better adaptation to the disease and a significant improvement in QoL.
