Bracket System in Orthodontics

Orthodontic brackets are the brackets attached to teeth to which the bracing wires of dental braces are attached. The evolutions of brackets from the introduction of pin and tube to lingual, magnetic and self -ligating brackets are rapid in pace and play a significant role in advancement of Orthodontic field. Though, we all are using recent brackets which are currently available in the markets, it is important to know the past history of brackets which was used earlier. Clinicians should consider a number of factors when selecting orthodontic brackets including how long the patient will be wearing braces, cosmetics, severity of bite and tooth crookedness, required headgear or additional appliances.
