On 6/9/2021 El Salvador became the first country, which made bitcoin a legal tender. That action provoked a lot of controversial, regarding the success of the experiment. Bitcoin s popularity increased more and more the last years. El Salvador s decision to adopt Bitcoin as currency gave to its devotees the hope that other countries will follow El Salvador and that someday bitcoin will replace dollar as a currency. On the other hand, some financial observers raised concerns about the cryptocurrency's volatility.
