Biopolymers for Targeted Drug Delivery Systems

Reecent research and development in medical science and technology, targeted drug delivery may play an important role in curing diseases by providing a method of delivering drug in sustainable approach that increases the absorption of the drug at targeted area without causing side effects. Technology of targeted drug delivery system increases the concentration of drugs especially in tissues of interest at the same time it reduces the relative concentration of the drug in the lingering tissues of infected area. This technology may advances efficacy of drug by reducing the possibilities of side effects as it focuses its delivery of drug to receptors/organs/any other precise part of the body. In the first volume of the book, author presents his group research contributions on biopolymeric materials for various targeted drug delivery systems especially colon cancer, skin disease and others.
