Basic geology

The various works and infrastructures planned or under construction are carried out on land (soil or rock) which constitutes the support of this work. Thus, the engineer concerned (civil engineering, hydraulics, topographer, etc.) is called upon to take into account the characteristics of this ground (nature, structure in space, geometric organization, mechanical properties, hydraulic properties, etc.) generally defined from a geological study. For this reason, the objective of this book is to enable future engineers and young graduates to acquire general knowledge of geology (different areas of interest from minerals to land envelopes) allowing them to communicate in a multidisciplinary workspace.
