Attitude towards use of agrochemicals for sustainable agriculture

Agricultural extension service providers play a ve crucial role on the actual practices undertaken by farmers in a given area. The use of agrochemicals to increase production is one such practice. Indiscriminate use of agro- chemicals usually results to adverse environmental consequences in the long run. However,Agro-chemicals may still be used for increased crop production for as long as the practices ensure environmental protection and sustainable agriculture. This calls for one to have proper and correct knowledge on their use and environmental consequences as well as a deliberate effort to change ones attitude in order to ensure good practices for sustainable agriculture. To this end the role of agricultural extension service providers becomes very significant.
