Approach to Teaching and Learning in Higher Education

Education is a pillar for all sectors of economic, political, social and cultural development. In this regard, quality should be given a due emphasis.This book mainly focuses on the approach adopted by teachers and students in higher education. Specifically, the study emphasized on examining the teaching learning approach and looking its implication in improving quality education. The application of teacher centered and student centered approach on the side of teachers have been looked and professional analysis have been made. The learning approach adopted by students is also a determining factor that contributes for quality learning.Hence, the Deep vs Surface approach of learning are discussed. The relationship between and among variables in this study are also shown. With this respect the way teachers teach their students have a direct relationship with the approach students adopt. The finding tells that, teachers should expect and encourage students to learn up to their maximum effort.
