Application of Data Envelopment Analysis

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is the best tool for the measurement of relative efficiency of non-profit organization. It has been widely used to measure the relative efficiency of public universities, schools, hospitals, fire services and local authorities. This book is the first application of the DEA for the relative efficiency measurement of maritime enforcement agencies that students and researchers need to know. For this purpose, the four Malaysian maritime enforcement agencies, namely the Patrol Squadrons of the Royal Malaysian Navy, the Marine Police of the Royal Malaysian Police, the Enforcement Section of the Fisheries Department and the Marine Section of the Royal Customs and Excise Department were selected and their relative efficiencies were successfully measured. This book is written in an accessible style to provide step-by-step approach to measure the relative efficiency of non-profit organization using the DEA.
