An Assessment of Pre-Tertiary Schools' Preparedness

Most Curriculum experts agree that it is better to implement a poorly designed Curriculum very well than to implement a good Curriculum poorly. Implementing a good Curriculum poorly is therefore a recipe for disaster. This book therefore sets out to assess the preparedness of senior high schools for the implementation of the new pre-tertiary Curriculum. This assessment is intended to be a guide for all stakeholders with the hope of ensuring that the new national pre-tertiary Curriculum hailed by most experts, is properly implemented. This study employs a descriptive study design while gathering data via stratified random sampling and cross-sectional survey. The theory of the concerns-based adoption model (CBAM) was extensively utilized during this study. Eighty-five respondents participated in the study and the research instrument of an online questionnaire was administered to participants. The research revealed that the level of communication and consultation with teachers was woefully inadequate. Similarly, the leadership style and infrastructure preparedness of the school was very poor.
