A Study on Social Media Usage Pattern of First Year Students

In the present time, children are widely exposed to electronic and computer world having mobiles in their hands, notebook and tablets in their palm and desktop or laptop on their study desk. Further, the internet is widely available in cable or wifi form to connect them with a wide open world though Google and other search. When we think of communication and its potentials(more than other segments of the human society) an acute need is felt by the younger generation specifically those who study at higher education. Potential transmission and exchange of information is felt as a dire need. Specifically, as students cross the threshold of schooling to go into open world of higher education they need to tap sources, obtain information, exchange it, interact it before they arrive at clear understanding. It starts with the first year of study at the University. The study aimed to find the usage pattern of First Year Students Studying in the Faculty of Family and Community Sciences, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara 2017-2018.
