A General Theory on Grassroots Leadership

The text book on a gereral grassroots leadership is a study on assessing the leadership potential of leaders of Local Governments. This study is made based on a novel concept introduced by the Government through the 73rd and 74th ammendment to the Constitution of India giving power to the Local Governments in planning and implementation of development programmes for their local economic development and also for delivery of better services to the citizens through good governance. In this context coupled with the evil effects of Globalisation there has been a felt need to develop projects for capacity building of leadership potential at grassroots. Potential influence of grassroots leaders, who occupy a position and status which confer on them the right to take decision, exercise authority, initiate action, direct and control the activities related to local economic development in the midst of Globalization needs to be fine tuned to stench the future impact of any transformation occurring in dynamic development phenomena. The idea on leadership potential prevailing in the grassroots democratic governance is of extreme importance.
