Throughout the entire history of mankind, since the Stone-Age to the computer age, numerous significant progresses in science, technology and engineering have been introduced. These technological progresses such as industrial revolution, advances in transportation (aircraft, automobiles, trains etc.), energy production (nuclear, thermal and hydroelectric), medicine, communication systems (satellites, mobiles and internet) and supercomputers are utilized to improve the quality of human life. Even if, all of them are quite differ from one another but still have something common. These are the materials which mark the milestones of these technologies and many times their limitations as well.The general discoveries of ameliorating the materials has led us through various stages of human development from using stones, wood, composites, nanomaterials and on to biomaterials. These discoveries and innovations in the development of such materials in nanoscale are essential, without which the novel technologies may not come to fruition.
