This further results in to domestic violence, sexual\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eharassment, rape, molestation and may more crimes.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThere have been many gender equality measures taken place at policy level in order to\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ereduce gender discrimination since independence. However, even after 65 years of\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eindependence India is still burning with gender discrimination at all levels. The reason\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ebehind this gender bias has been the fact that the gender equality measures are mostly\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eoriented towards women and sought to achieve gender equality through positive action\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eor economic opportunity for women only.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis paper therefore, attempts to analyze the new gender equality measure namely the\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003egender-mainstreaming strategy as a way to reduce this gender discrimination. The\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003epaper dwells into addressing three questions: How gender-mainstreaming strategy\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ecould be a better way to eliminate this gender bias? How is it different from other\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003egender equality measures? and What results it could yield in the process of its\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eimplementation?
