Every one knows that. I wouldn¿t\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eset my own opinion against the opinion of Mrs. Peerybingle, unless\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI were quite sure, on any account whatever. Nothing should induce\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eme. But, this is a question of act. And the fact is, that the kettle\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ebegan it, at least five minutes before the Cricket gave any sign of\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ebeing in existence. Contradict me, and I¿ll say ten.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eLet me narrate exactly how it happened. I should have proceeded to\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003edo so in my very first word, but for this plain consideration¿if I\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eam to tell a story I must begin at the beginning; and how is it\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003epossible to begin at the beginning, without beginning at the kettle?\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt appeared as if there were a sort of match, or trial of skill, you\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003emust understand, between the kettle and the Cricket.
