The second part of the  book deals with wastewater characteristics,  definitions and parameters that are essential for  characterisation of wastes. Furthermore the part  tackles the different ways to treat and disposal of  wastewaters. Treatment is divided into preliminary  (screens, grit chambers and primary sedimentaion  processes) and treatment proper through options  like (i)Waste stabilisation ponds, (ii) Activated  Sludge (AS), (iii)Trickling Filters.
