Beschreibung
This work entitled Preventing genocide: Human rights violation and humanitarian crisis with focus on Rwanda investigates the measures and strategies of preventing genocide in relation to the human right violation and humanitarian crisis during the Rwandan genocide. The work stipulates that the genocide stemmed from an ¿ideology of hatred,¿ ¿divisionism,¿ and ¿meticulous planning¿, economic hardship, deeply rooted in colonialism and the search for identity. The central question we sought to find out was: Considering the causes and impact of the Rwandan genocide on human rights instruments and the daunting effect of humanitarian crisis, what strategies and policies can be implemented to prevent Genocide today? The main hypothesis posits that due to the high cost of humanitarian crisis that erupts from human rights violation during genocide, prevention is a prerequisite and highly necessary. For an effective analysis, a mixed methodology involving both qualitative and quantitative methods were chosen. The methods include; interviews, discussions with scholars, review of documents and internet sourcing. Theories like instrumentalism and primordialism guided our findings and studies.
Prevention is possible in our world today
